The "Yangfan Mineral" is a Capesize bulk carrier with a deadweight tonnage of 206,000. The main repair work during this visit included the installation of shaft generator, frequency cabinet, isolation transformer, and structural modifications in the tail shaft area. This project covered multiple key areas such as hull, electromechanical, and painting, with a complex engineering structure and a very tight repair schedule.
After receiving the repair project for this vessel, the company's senior management attached great importance to it. The production department faced the challenge of undertaking the installation project of this type of shaft generator system for the first time, quickly forming a single-vessel management project team. They actively engaged with the shipowner stationed at the yard, organized multiple production preparation meetings, meticulously reviewed the work processes, and solidified the construction plan, laying a good foundation for the smooth progress of the repair project.
During the ship modification project, the single-vessel management project team closely focused on the production goals of "controlling dock time, ensuring quality, and expediting delivery." They promptly convened safety production planning meetings with various workshops, the technical department, construction teams, and relevant external parties to strengthen on-site production and safety control elements, carefully deploying important production task nodes. During the installation of the shaft generator system on the "Yangfan Mineral," on-site management personnel closely monitored production, continuously optimized construction procedures, clarified each construction node, reasonably arranged night work, and strictly ensured construction handover and safety control. Ultimately, through the hard work of all participants braving the heat and rain in challenging shifts, they successfully overcame various difficulties such as lack of experience in first-time installation and labor shortages, completing all repair tasks for the "Yangfan Mineral" with high quality, earning unanimous praise from the shipowner and ship inspection.
In the end, the "Yangfan Mineral" set sail with a brand new appearance, not only accumulating valuable experience for the company's installation of shaft generator systems but also laying a solid foundation for the company to undertake other ship energy-saving device projects in the future.
