        “BRAZIL MARU” is a VLOC super-large ore bulk carrier belonging to Japan DOUN KISEN Company. The ship is 340m long, 60m wide and has a deadweight of 320,000 tons. This time, the ship is scheduled to undergo the third special inspection for routine repairs and retrofitting of Ballast Water Management System (BWMS). In the process of repair, a number of steel structure projects were temporarily added, such as hull bottom plate replacement, and the scheduled project period was 25 days. This project is the largest ship repaired by Xinhong Heavy Industry since the establishment of the factory, and it refreshes the highest record of the company's docking repair ship, and also creates a new historical high of ship repair in Weihai area. For this reason, Weihai, Shidao Pilotage Station attaches great importance to the two levels of station managers have personally visited the site many times to investigate and guide the work. In view of the large ship size of “Brazilian Maru”, the production department coordinated with the pilotage team, barge department, painting workshop and service workshop according to the tide time, and successfully completed the tasks of moving the ship into and out of the dock, and accumulated valuable experience, which will provide a strong guarantee for the company to undertake the super-large ships in the future.

        Temporarily increase the steel structure project, the shipowner required to complete the 35 tons of hull bottom plate replacement within 5 days, due to the keel pier demolition of many, the construction is more difficult. In response to the short time, production power constraints and other unfavorable factors, the production department timely adjusted the production operation plan, the hull workshop, the dock painting workshop dock shift, service workshop co-ordinate the deployment of manpower and material resources, the establishment of a multi-workshop, multi-tasking, multi-time joint operation mechanism, and ultimately quality and quantity on schedule to complete the delivery of the ship.

        The installation of the ship's ballast water system for the electrolytic BC-5000, compared with the previous project pipeline project volume increased greatly, the total amount of more than six hundred roots. With rich installation experience and skilled installation technology, the company's production and technical personnel not only completed the installation project as scheduled, but also carried out system optimization under the close cooperation of the ship's engine service and ship inspection, and shortened the original expected 2-day docking debugging to 12 hours to complete the debugging and start sailing.
