Recently, the Singapore-flagged VLOC "Yuyuan" repaired by Xinhong Heavy Industry has successfully completed all repair projects and set sail anew.
The ship is 339.9 meters long, 62 meters wide, with a deadweight tonnage of 325,000 tons, and the planned repair period is 12 days. The organic silicon paint project on the total area of 31,700 square meters of the hull is the most critical project in this repair, and it is also the largest project in terms of area that Xinhong Heavy Industry has ever undertaken for similar repair projects.
After receiving the repair task for the vessel, the production department attached great importance to it, immediately forming a single ship management project team, and liaising with the shipowner's representative at the yard to analyze and sort out the construction plan for the "Yuyuan" vessel, laying the foundation for the efficient and smooth construction of the subsequent painting.
Before the ship entered the dock, the single ship management project team held a special planning meeting for the project with the painting workshop, construction team, and paint technical service providers, formulating a detailed construction plan. They meticulously planned the sandblasting equipment, construction area, and workforce, and arranged for the quantification of spray painters according to the overall plan, as well as the advance purchase of various standard-compliant new nozzles, spray pipes, protective materials, etc. All construction details were strictly regulated according to the shipowner's requirements, ensuring adequate preparation of both soft and hard resources.
During the ship repair process, the management personnel of the painting workshop monitored the cleanliness of the entire ship's dock bottom, inspection, painting, and other construction links 24 hours a day, ensuring that all processes were closely connected. At the same time, considering that this painting project was the first to use the welding seam putty spraying process, in order to ensure construction quality and dock repair progress, the single ship management project team reasonably allocated human, material, and technical resources, fully promoting team collaboration spirit, overcoming the challenges of limited construction scope, and tracking the implementation of rust removal and painting processes throughout, orderly advancing the construction of organic silicon paint. With the hard work and unremitting efforts of the project participants, Xinhong Heavy Industry completed the painting task with high standards, strict requirements, and guaranteed quality and quantity, delivering the "Yuyuan" vessel ahead of schedule.
This time, the "Yuyuan" vessel successfully completed the organic silicon coating project and smoothly left the dock to set sail, receiving high praise from the shipowner company, accumulating valuable experience for the subsequent silicone paint project on the outer plate, while also providing new space and hope for the company to broaden cooperation directions and extend cooperation fields with old customers!
